The Husband of Noble Character: Psalms 15:1-5
“1 LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live on your holy hill? 2 He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart 3 and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong and casts no slur on his fellowman,
4 who despises a vile man but honors those who fear the LORD, who keeps his oath even when it hurts, 5 who lends his money without usury and does not accept a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things will never be shaken.”
Listen up ladies…
The Bible is filled with wonderful nuggets on what we should be looking for in our godly mate. Search the scriptures. I chose Psalms fifteen after being referred to it by a deacon at my church.
Women, we want a man of noble character.
- One who does what is right and just.
- A man who is honest, stays out of other people’s business, helps his neighbors and does not stay in conflict with his neighbor.
- We want a spouse who hates evil and injustice; who keeps his word even when it puts a strain on him; a man that has scruples and is not swayed easily by other’s opinions.
Ladies, we can have a spouse who is self-sufficient and lends his money without interest, according to God’s word.
Love and poverty is not synonymous.
Most importantly, we want a husband that loves and fears the Lord, keeps God’s commandments, seeks God’s face continually, and loves us unconditionally.
